Altar Server Ministry
St. Philip the Apostle Altar Server Ministry
Led by Deacon Narciso Ortiz
The ministry of altar server in the Catholic Church is very unique. Other than the priest and deacons, no one else has the opportunity to participate so closely in the preparation of the Eucharist. At St. Philip the Apostle, altar servers are chosen from those young men and women who display a desire for an intimate union with our Lord. Everything they do is a witness to their love of Jesus in the celebration of the Mass. Great care is taken to instruct each server on how to perform all duties and responsibilites with dignity and reverance.

Altar Server Prayer (Before Mass)
Oh Jesus, my King and Lord, by the grace of the heavenly Father and the power of the Holy Spirit, guide me in all righteousness as I serve You today at the Altar so I may be always worthy of Your presence. If I happen to make an error, may it be a lesson so my service will be perfect tomorrow. Jesus, I love you with all my heart.
